Description

This refreshing Iced Matcha Latte is a perfect blend of vibrant matcha green tea powder, creamy milk, and a hint of vanilla sweetness served over ice. It’s quick to make, beautifully energizing, and customizable with your choice of milk and sweetener.

Ingredients

Matcha Mixture

  • 2 tsp matcha powder
  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 3-4 tsp vanilla syrup (or simple syrup/white chocolate powder dissolved in 1 tbsp hot water)

Latte

  • 1 cup milk of choice (dairy or plant-based)
  • Ice (as needed, about 3/4 full of a 16 oz glass)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Matcha: In a deep measuring cup, add 2 teaspoons of matcha powder. Pour in 1/4 cup boiling water and whisk vigorously using an electric matcha whisk or bamboo whisk until the powder is fully dissolved and smooth. If you don’t have a whisk, blend 2 teaspoons matcha with 1/2 cup boiling water in a blender for a smooth mix.
  2. Add Sweetener: Mix the 3-4 teaspoons of vanilla syrup into the prepared matcha. You can substitute with simple syrup or dissolve white chocolate powder in a tablespoon of hot water for a unique twist. Adjust sweetness to your personal taste.
  3. Assemble the Latte: Fill a 16-ounce glass about three-quarters full with ice. Pour in 1 cup of milk of your choice, then add the sweetened matcha mixture on top. Optionally, use the electric whisk to froth 1/4 cup cold milk into foam and add it on top for a creamy finish. Stir gently and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Use a proper matcha whisk to avoid clumps and achieve a smooth consistency.
  • Adjust the sweetness according to preference; you can omit syrup for a more traditional, slightly bitter taste.
  • Cold foam is optional but adds a delightful texture and richer mouthfeel.
  • Choose your favorite milk—dairy, almond, oat, or soy all work well.
  • To ensure maximum flavor, use high-quality ceremonial grade matcha powder.
