Ingredients
Tuna Filling
- 1 (5-6 ounce) can tuna, drained and flaked
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup finely chopped green onions
- ¼ cup chopped water chestnuts
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce (or tamari)
- 1 teaspoon sriracha, or to taste
Wrap Assembly
- 2 large flour tortillas or wraps (about 10-inch diameter)
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon chili crisp/chili crunch, or to taste
- Oil (such as avocado oil) for toasting
Instructions
- Make the tuna filling: In a bowl, combine the drained and flaked tuna, mayonnaise, finely chopped green onions, chopped water chestnuts, soy sauce, and sriracha. Mix thoroughly until well combined to create a creamy and flavorful filling.
- Assemble the wraps: Lay the flour tortillas flat on a clean work surface. Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over each tortilla. Divide the tuna filling between the two tortillas by placing it in a row slightly below the center of each. Drizzle or spoon the chili crisp over the tuna mixture for added spice and texture.
- Roll them up: Fold in the sides of each tortilla, then tuck the bottom edge over the tuna filling. Roll up the tortillas from the bottom like a burrito, securely tucking in the sides as you go to enclose the filling completely.
- Toast: Heat a thin layer of oil, such as avocado oil, in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place each wrap seam-side down in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until the underside is golden and crispy, pressing gently with a spatula occasionally. Flip the wraps and cook the other side until equally golden brown. Alternatively, you can use a sandwich press or panini press, placing the wraps seam-side down and grilling until the cheese melts and the exterior is crisp.
- Serve: Remove the wraps from heat and slice them in half. Serve warm while crispy on the outside and melty on the inside, enjoying the delightful blend of spices and textures.
