Ingredients
Salmon
- 1 (1-pound) salmon fillet
Seasoning and Oil
- 2 teaspoons avocado oil, or cooking oil of choice
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to the high broil setting to prepare for cooking the salmon.
- Prepare Salmon: Lightly grease a large baking sheet with cooking spray or oil the bottom of a casserole dish. Place the salmon fillet skin side down on the greased surface. Drizzle avocado oil over the salmon’s flesh, spreading it evenly with your hands to coat the entire surface. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt evenly over the fillet.
- Season the Fillet: In a small bowl, mix the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and ground coriander. Generously sprinkle this seasoning blend over the salmon’s flesh, ensuring even coverage for maximum flavor.
- Broil Salmon: Position the oven rack on the third shelf from the top and place the salmon in the oven. Broil for about 10 minutes, adjusting the time depending on thickness and desired doneness: approximately 6 minutes for rare and up to 15 minutes for very thick cuts. The salmon is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
- Rest and Serve: Remove the salmon from the oven and allow it to rest for 5 minutes to let the juices redistribute. Serve with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!
Notes
- Leftover seasoning mix can be saved for future use on other salmon, chicken, steak, or vegetables.
- Always check the internal temperature with a digital thermometer to ensure safe cooking at 145°F.
- Adjust broiling time based on the thickness of the salmon fillet.
- Use avocado oil or any oil with a high smoke point to prevent burning under the broiler.
