Description

This Chipotle Peach BBQ Sauce is a vibrant and smoky condiment that combines the natural sweetness of fresh peaches with the spicy kick of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. Perfectly balanced with tangy apple cider vinegar, honey, and a touch of brown sugar, this sauce is ideal for elevating grilled meats or adding a flavorful twist to your favorite BBQ dishes. Ready in just 13 minutes, it blends fresh ingredients into a smooth, rich sauce that’s both sweet and smoky with a hint of heat.

Ingredients

Fruit Base

  • 1 lb peaches, pitted and diced

Liquid and Vinegar

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

Tomato and Chipotle

  • 6 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 adobo chipotle peppers in adobo + 1 tbsp sauce

Oils and Sweeteners

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 minced garlic cloves (or 2 tbsp garlic-infused olive oil as substitute for both garlic and olive oil)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (can substitute 1 tbsp coconut sugar)

Seasonings

  • 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a medium pot set over medium heat, add all the ingredients together and stir well to combine everything evenly.
  2. Simmer the Sauce: Bring the mixture to a low boil, continuing to stir frequently. Let it stew for about 5 minutes so the peaches soften and flavors meld together.
  3. Blend Until Smooth: Use an immersion blender directly in the pot to puree the sauce until smooth and free of lumps. If you don’t have an immersion blender, carefully transfer the hot mixture to a heat-proof blender and blend until smooth.
  4. Serve or Store: Serve the sauce immediately over grilled meats like wings or chicken. Any unused sauce should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for later use.

Notes

  • Substitute garlic and olive oil with garlic-infused olive oil for a milder garlic flavor.
  • Use coconut sugar as a natural alternative to brown sugar.
  • This sauce can be served warm or cold depending on your preference.
  • Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • Perfect accompaniment for grilled chicken, pork, wings, or tofu.
