Description

Deliciously rich and moist brownie waffles that combine the fudgy texture of brownies with the crispiness of waffles. Perfect for a sweet breakfast or dessert treat.

Ingredients

Chocolate Mixture

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup milk (for melting chocolate)

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk (remaining)
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 5 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips with 1/2 cup milk. Microwave for 25 seconds, stir, and repeat until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
  2. Whisk wet ingredients: Add the remaining 1/2 cup milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and eggs into the melted chocolate mixture. Whisk thoroughly until smooth and well combined.
  3. Whisk dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, unsweetened cocoa powder, and granulated sugar until evenly mixed.
  4. Combine ingredients: Gently fold the wet chocolate mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined to avoid overmixing.
  5. Prepare waffle iron: Lightly spray or brush the preheated waffle iron with oil or nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  6. Fill iron and cook waffles: Spoon about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of batter into each section of the waffle iron. Close the iron and cook for 4-7 minutes until the waffles are crisp on the outside and cooked through.
  7. Serve: Remove waffles carefully and serve warm with your favorite toppings such as syrup, whipped cream, or fresh fruit.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter to keep the waffles tender and moist.
  • Use a nonstick or well-oiled waffle iron for easy removal.
  • Adjust cooking time based on your waffle iron to achieve desired crispness.
  • For extra fudginess, consider adding a few chocolate chips to the batter before cooking.
  • These waffles are best served immediately but can be stored refrigerated for up to 2 days.
