Ingredients

For the Brownie Base:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

For the Tiramisu Layer:

1 cup mascarpone cheese

1 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup powdered sugar

2 tbsp espresso or strong coffee, cooled

1 tsp vanilla extract

Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting


Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

  • Prepare the Brownie Base: Mix the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well. In another bowl, whisk the dry ingredients and fold into the wet mixture. Add chocolate chips, if desired. Bake for 18-22 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool completely.

  • Prepare the Tiramisu Layer: Whisk mascarpone, heavy cream, powdered sugar, espresso, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

  • Assemble the Brownies: Spread the tiramisu layer evenly over the cooled brownie base. Smooth the top with a spatula.

  • Chill the Brownies: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the tiramisu layer to set.

  • Serve: Dust with cocoa powder and slice into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

For a stronger coffee flavor, drizzle additional espresso on the brownie base.

Substitute mascarpone with ricotta for a lighter flavor.

You can swirl melted chocolate into the tiramisu layer for a chocolate twist.
