Description

Strawberry Lasagna is a delightful no-bake layered dessert featuring a crunchy golden Oreo crust, creamy cheesecake layer with fresh strawberries, a juicy strawberry gelatin layer, and topped with fluffy whipped cream. This refreshing and easy-to-make dessert is perfect for warm weather gatherings and sweet cravings.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 36 golden Oreos
  • 6 Tablespoons butter, melted

First layer (Cream Cheese Layer)

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons cold milk, if needed
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced (for layering)

Second layer (Strawberry Jello Layer)

  • 3 ounces strawberry flavored gelatin (1 box of Jello)
  • ½ cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed

Topping

  • 8 ounces fresh whipped cream or Cool Whip
  • 16 ounces fresh strawberries, sliced (more for garnish if desired)

Instructions

  1. Make crust: Crush 36 golden Oreos using a food processor or place them in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin. Mix the crushed Oreos with 6 tablespoons of melted butter until evenly combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish. Chill in the freezer or refrigerator for about 5 minutes to set.
  2. Cream cheese layer: In a medium bowl, whip the softened cream cheese until fluffy. Add 1 cup of powdered sugar and mix thoroughly. Gently fold in 8 ounces of thawed Cool Whip. If the mixture is too thick, stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons of cold milk to thin it slightly. Spread this mixture evenly over the Oreo crust. Layer sliced fresh strawberries on top of the cream cheese layer. Return to the freezer or refrigerator for another 5 to 10 minutes to firm up.
  3. Strawberry jello layer: In a separate bowl, dissolve 3 ounces of strawberry gelatin powder in ½ cup boiling water by whisking until fully dissolved. Stir in ½ cup cold water. Let the gelatin cool on the counter for 5 to 10 minutes without letting it set completely. Then carefully whisk in 8 ounces of thawed Cool Whip until smooth. Spread this mixture evenly over the cream cheese and strawberry layer. Chill in the freezer or refrigerator for 20 minutes to allow the jello layer to set.
  4. Whipped cream topping: Spread the remaining 8 ounces of fresh whipped cream or Cool Whip evenly over the set jello layer. For best flavor, homemade whipped cream is preferred if time allows. Place the assembled dish in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours to fully chill and set.
  5. Serve: Just before serving, remove the dessert from the refrigerator. Garnish the top with additional fresh sliced strawberries as desired. Slice into squares and enjoy this cool, layered strawberry dessert.

Notes

  • This is a no-bake dessert, ideal for warm weather or any time you want to avoid using the oven.
  • For a thinner cream cheese layer, add milk gradually until desired consistency is achieved.
  • Do not let the gelatin mixture set before folding in the Cool Whip to ensure smooth layering.
  • Homemade whipped cream enhances flavor and texture but store-bought Cool Whip works fine for convenience.
  • Keep the finished dessert refrigerated until ready to serve to maintain structure and freshness.
  • Use fresh, ripe strawberries for best flavor and presentation.
