Description

This Sautéed Kale recipe is a simple and delicious way to enjoy this nutritious leafy green. With just a few ingredients, you can create a flavorful side dish that pairs well with any meal.

Ingredients

Kale:

  • 1 bunch kale, lacinato or curly kale

Other Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Lemon wedge, for squeezing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Kale: Remove and discard the coarse parts of the kale stems. Chop or tear the leaves.
  2. Sauté the Kale: In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the kale leaves, garlic, pinches of salt, and several grinds of pepper. Sauté for 2 to 4 minutes, tossing (I like to use tongs for this), until the kale has wilted down.
  3. Finish and Serve: Turn off the heat, squeeze a little lemon juice over the kale, and toss. Season to taste and serve.

Notes

  • You can customize this dish by adding red pepper flakes for a bit of heat or a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
