These indulgent cake balls are perfect for parties, special occasions, or just whenever you crave something sweet. Easy to make and fun to decorate, these little treats are sure to impress everyone who tries them!

Ingredients

For the cake:

1 box red velvet cake mix

3 eggs

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 cup water

For the frosting:

1 cup cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)

For the coating:

12 oz white chocolate chips or white melting wafers

1 tsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening

Optional:

Red velvet cake crumbs or red sprinkles for decoration

Dark or red chocolate for drizzling

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cake:

    • Follow the directions on the cake box, and allow the cake to cool completely after baking.

  • Crumble the Cake:

    • Once the cake is cooled, crumble it into fine crumbs using your hands or a fork in a large bowl.

  • Mix with Frosting:

    • Add cream cheese frosting to the crumbled cake and mix until fully combined. The texture should resemble dough.

  • Form the Cake Balls:

    • Roll the cake mixture into tablespoon-sized balls and arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  • Chill the Cake Balls:

    • Refrigerate the cake balls for 1 hour or freeze for 30 minutes to firm up.

  • Melt the White Chocolate:

    • In a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler, melt white chocolate with coconut oil or vegetable shortening until smooth.

  • Dip the Cake Balls:

    • Dip each chilled cake ball into the melted white chocolate, allowing the excess to drip off. Place the dipped cake balls back onto the baking sheet.

  • Decorate:

    • Immediately decorate the cake balls with red velvet cake crumbs, sprinkles, or drizzle with dark or red chocolate, if desired.

  • Allow to Set:

    • Let the chocolate coating set completely at room temperature or refrigerate for about 15 minutes to speed up the process.
