Ingredients
8–9 cups popcorn (popped)
1 stick salted butter
1 bag mini marshmallows
¾ teaspoon alcohol-free vanilla extract
1 cup red/green M&Ms
¼ cup red/green sprinkles
Instructions
- Add the popped popcorn to a large bowl.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat.
- Add the mini marshmallows and vanilla extract to the melted butter. Stir continuously until everything is melted and smooth.
- Remove the marshmallow mixture from the heat and pour it over the popcorn. Stir gently until the popcorn is well-coated.
- Allow the popcorn mixture to cool slightly before adding the M&Ms and sprinkles. Stir well using a rubber spatula.
- To avoid sticky hands, wear gloves or rub a little olive oil on your hands before shaping the mixture into balls.
- Form the coated popcorn into balls of your preferred size.
- Let the popcorn balls cool to room temperature (about 5 minutes) before bagging them for storage or serving.
Notes
- Candy Variations: Swap the M&Ms for any candy of your choice, like Reese’s Pieces, Skittles, or chopped chocolate.
- Flavor Add-ins: Add a pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg, or a drizzle of caramel for extra flavor.
- Dietary Adjustments: For a dairy-free version, substitute the butter with a plant-based butter and use dairy-free marshmallows.
