Description

A comforting café-style latte that blends rich espresso with malted milk powder, cocoa, vanilla, and steamed milk for a nostalgic, creamy-sweet twist on the classic latte.

Ingredients

2 shots just-brewed espresso

3 tablespoons malted milk powder

1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch-processed preferred, but natural works)

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup steamed milk

Sugar to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Stir together the freshly brewed espresso with malted milk powder, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until fully dissolved and well combined.
  2. Pour in the steamed milk, stirring gently to combine. Top with frothed milk if desired.
  3. Taste and add sugar to your preference (optional). Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a stronger malted flavor, increase malted milk powder to 4 tablespoons.
  • Swap espresso with ¼ cup strong brewed coffee if no espresso machine is available.
  • Use flavored malted milk powder (banana or chocolate) for variation.
  • Add extra cocoa powder or chocolate syrup for a mocha-style version.
  • Make it iced by stirring in cold milk and serving over ice.
  • Oat, almond, or soy milk can replace dairy milk—oat milk froths best.
  • Best enjoyed fresh, but can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours and reheated gently.
