Description

This refreshing iced matcha latte is a simple, customizable beverage featuring ceremonial-grade matcha whisked with hot water and combined with your choice of milk over ice. Naturally energizing and delicious, it’s perfect for a quick pick-me-up or a refreshing treat on warm days.

Ingredients

Matcha Base

  • 2 teaspoons ceremonial-grade matcha
  • 1 teaspoon sugar, honey, or maple syrup (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons hot water (175°F)

Milk & Serving

  • 3/4 cup plain milk (such as oat milk)
  • Ice, as desired

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the matcha: Add the matcha powder and optional sweetener to a small bowl or measuring cup with a spout. Pour in the hot water at approximately 175°F, then use a bamboo whisk to whisk the mixture vigorously for 20-30 seconds in a “W” motion until the matcha is fully dissolved and the surface becomes slightly foamy.
  2. Combine: Pour the milk into your serving glass and fill it with plenty of ice cubes. Slowly pour the prepared matcha mixture over the milk and ice. Use a straw or a long spoon to gently stir the drink until the components are well mixed.
  3. Serve: Enjoy your iced matcha latte immediately while it’s refreshing and cold.

Notes

  • Use ceremonial-grade matcha for the best flavor and smoothness.
  • Adjust sweetness to taste or omit sweetener for a naturally earthy flavor.
  • Feel free to use dairy or any plant-based milk according to preference (oat, almond, soy, etc.).
  • Whisking technique is key to avoid clumps and ensure a smooth texture.
  • Best consumed fresh to retain optimal flavor and frothiness.
