Ingredients
- ½ cup frozen blueberries
- 2 Tbsp white sugar
- 1 Tbsp cold water
- 1½ tsp matcha powder
- 3½ Tbsp hot water
- ¾ cup almond milk
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a blender, combine frozen blueberries, sugar, and cold water. Blend until smooth (or use alternative purée method).
- Whisk matcha powder with hot water until frothy using a matcha whisk or frother.
- Spoon blueberry purée into the bottom of a glass. Add ice cubes on top.
- Slowly pour in almond milk over the ice.
- Gently pour matcha over milk to create layers. Serve immediately, stirred or as-is.
Notes
- Use oat, soy, or dairy milk as a substitute for almond milk.
- Replace sugar with honey, maple syrup, or stevia for different sweetness levels.
- Use mango, strawberries, or raspberries in place of blueberries.
- Prepare blueberry purée in advance and refrigerate up to 3 days.
- Pour each layer slowly over the back of a spoon to keep them separated.
