¼ cup unsalted butter (at room temperature)

¼ cup granulated sugar

1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

4 slices bread (white, whole wheat, or Texas toast)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix butter, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly on each slice of bread, covering to the edges.
  4. Place slices on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes until lightly crisp.
  5. Switch to broil and broil for 1–2 minutes until the top is bubbling and golden.
  6. Remove from oven, cool slightly, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use thick Texas toast for extra richness and crunch.
  • Keep a close watch while broiling to avoid burning.
  • For added sweetness, drizzle with icing after baking.
