Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, minced (about 1 teaspoon)
1 pound steak, sliced into small pieces
1½ tablespoons soy sauce
1½ tablespoons mirin
Instructions
- Prep the steak by slicing it into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat a skillet over high heat until very hot.
- Add the butter and allow it to melt fully.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 10–20 seconds, until fragrant.
- Add the steak pieces to the skillet, stirring to coat them in the garlic butter. Cook for about 3 minutes.
- While the steak cooks, mix soy sauce and mirin in a small cup.
- Pour the sauce over the steak and stir to coat evenly.
- Continue cooking for an additional 3–5 minutes, until the steak reaches your preferred doneness.
- Turn off the heat and transfer the steak to a serving plate.
Notes
- Use high heat for best sear on steak pieces.
- Don’t overcook garlic to avoid bitterness.
- Double the sauce if serving with rice or noodles.
- Sear steak in batches if doubling recipe to avoid overcrowding the pan.
