Description
This Ground Beef and Eggs recipe features a flavorful combination of Mediterranean spices, lean ground beef, and scrambled eggs cooked together in one skillet. It’s a quick and hearty meal perfect for breakfast or brunch, bringing aromatic spices and protein-packed ingredients into a simple, satisfying dish.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- ¼ pound lean ground beef
- 1 teaspoon 7 spice seasoning
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 8 large eggs
To Garnish
- 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
- Lebanese pita bread, for serving
Instructions
- Heat Olive Oil and Garlic: Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, making sure not to burn the garlic.
- Cook Ground Beef with Spices: Add the lean ground beef to the skillet along with 7 spice, cinnamon, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook the beef, breaking it up as needed, until browned and fully cooked, about 3 minutes.
- Add and Scramble Eggs: Crack the 8 large eggs directly on top of the cooked ground beef. Lower the heat to medium and use a spatula to lightly fold and scramble the eggs with the beef. Cook until the eggs are almost set but still slightly runny, about 5 minutes. Take care not to overmix so the eggs and beef remain somewhat distinct in texture.
- Serve and Garnish: Carefully transfer the cooked ground beef and eggs to a wide, round serving dish. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley on top. Serve immediately with warm Lebanese pita bread on the side.
Notes
- 7 spice is a Middle Eastern blend; if unavailable, substitute with a mix of ground cumin, coriander, allspice, and cloves.
- Use lean ground beef to reduce fat content and keep the dish lighter.
- Adjust seasoning to taste, especially salt and pepper.
- This dish pairs well with fresh vegetables or a simple salad for a complete meal.
- Be careful not to overcook the eggs so they stay tender and moist.
