Description
Soft, golden rolls swirled with garlic-parsley butter—perfectly fluffy inside with a savory, aromatic filling. Ideal as a side for any meal or a standalone treat.
Ingredients
2 cups warm milk (about 110 °F / 43 °C)
2 tablespoons sugar
2 ¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon salt
4–5 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
4 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours, or until doubled.
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Punch down the dough and roll into a 12×18-inch rectangle. Spread garlic butter evenly over the surface. Roll tightly from the long edge into a log, then cut into 12 equal slices.
- Place rolls swirl-side up in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes until puffed.
- Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Bake rolls for 20–25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Add Parmesan or mozzarella to the filling for a cheesy version.
- Swap parsley with basil or chives for variation.
- Include red pepper flakes for heat.
- Brush tops with herb butter post-baking for added flavor.
