Description

Crispy, golden corn tortillas filled with seasoned ground sirloin, quickly fried and topped with fresh onions, cilantro, and lime—perfect for a crunchy, savory taco night.


Ingredients

8 (5‑inch) corn tortillas

1 pound ground sirloin

2 tablespoons taco seasoning

¾ teaspoon kosher salt, divided

½ cup vegetable oil (or as needed for frying)

½ cup minced white onion

¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro

Lime wedges, for serving

¼ cup salsa (or as needed), for serving


Instructions

  1. Lay tortillas flat on a clean surface. In a bowl, mix ground sirloin, taco seasoning, and ½ teaspoon salt.
  2. Press about ¼ cup beef mixture onto half of each tortilla.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat until hot. Slide one tortilla flat into the oil.
  4. After 5 seconds, fold tortilla over using tongs to form taco shape.
  5. Fry each side for 30 seconds to 1 minute until golden and beef is cooked to 160 °F.
  6. Transfer to paper towel-lined plate. Sprinkle remaining salt.
  7. Serve hot with onion, cilantro, lime wedges, salsa, and hot sauce if desired.
