Description
Cranberry Brie Pull Apart Bread is the perfect holiday appetizer featuring gooey melted Brie, sweet dried cranberries, and fragrant herbs baked into a crusty sourdough loaf. Easy to prepare and irresistibly festive, this cheesy pull-apart bread is ideal for parties, potlucks, or cozy winter nights.
Ingredients
1 round or oval sourdough loaf or crusty Italian bread (1 1/2 to 1 3/4 pounds), unsliced
5 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 (8-ounce) wheel Brie cheese, cut lengthwise into 1-inch strips, then thinly sliced crosswise
1/3 cup dried cranberries
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with foil.
- Using a serrated knife, cut the bread into diagonal 1-inch diamonds from the top, almost to the bottom but not all the way through.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, honey, rosemary, thyme, pepper, and salt.
- Gently pull apart the bread cuts and drizzle with half the butter mixture.
- Stuff Brie slices and cranberries into the cuts.
- Place the loaf on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle with the remaining butter mixture.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the Brie is melted and the bread is golden and toasty.
- Serve immediately while warm and melty.
Notes
- Use a sturdy loaf like sourdough or Italian bread for best results.
- Try adding chopped toasted nuts like pecans or walnuts for texture.
- To make it savory, omit the honey and cranberries and add garlic and Parmesan instead.
- Assemble ahead of time and bake just before serving for convenience.
- Cover with foil during the first half of baking to prevent drying out.
