Description
These Chocolate Strawberry Yogurt Clusters are a delightful and healthy treat combining fresh strawberries, creamy Greek yogurt, and a rich chocolate coating. Perfect for a refreshing snack or dessert, these clusters are easy to make, naturally sweetened with honey, and provide a satisfying blend of flavors and textures that everyone will love.
Ingredients
Fruit and Yogurt Mixture
- 1 1/2 cups chopped strawberries
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Coating
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
Instructions
- Prepare the yogurt mixture: Add the chopped strawberries, plain Greek yogurt, honey, and vanilla extract to a large bowl. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
- Form the clusters: Using about 2 tablespoons of the yogurt mixture per scoop, place spoonfuls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a large plate to form clusters. Aim to make about 10 clusters in total.
- Freeze the clusters: Place the baking sheet with the yogurt clusters into the freezer. Freeze until the clusters are completely solidified, which will take about 1 to 2 hours.
- Melt the chocolate: Put the semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 15 to 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Coat the clusters: Remove the frozen yogurt clusters from the freezer. Using a spoon, carefully dip each cluster into the melted chocolate to fully coat it. Place the coated clusters back onto the parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Optionally, sprinkle a little sea salt on top for extra flavor.
- Set the chocolate coating: Return the clusters to the freezer for a few minutes to allow the chocolate to harden and the yogurt to firm up a bit. Once set, the clusters are ready to enjoy.
Notes
- Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor and texture.
- If you prefer a sweeter treat, you can add a bit more honey or use sweetened yogurt.
- Ensure the yogurt clusters are fully frozen before dipping in chocolate to prevent melting.
- Store the clusters in the freezer in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
- You can substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips with dark or milk chocolate chips based on preference.
- For a dairy-free version, use a dairy-free yogurt alternative and vegan chocolate chips.
