Description

A creamy and decadent drink that blends earthy matcha green tea with silky coconut milk and sweet white chocolate. Topped with whipped cream and optional garnishes, it’s a café-worthy indulgence made at home.

Ingredients

60 ml (4 tablespoons) hot water (around 70°C / 158°F, not boiling)

2 teaspoons matcha powder

60 g (2 oz) white chocolate, chopped

360 ml (1 ½ cups) coconut milk (or whole milk)

Optional: Whipped coconut cream or whipped cream

Optional: White chocolate chunks or flakes

Optional: Matcha powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Whisk matcha powder into hot water until smooth.
  2. Heat coconut milk in a saucepan until scalding but not boiling.
  3. Add chopped white chocolate and stir until melted and smooth.
  4. Mix in about two-thirds of the prepared matcha. Taste and add remaining matcha if desired.
  5. For froth, blend briefly with a stick blender or whisk vigorously.
  6. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, white chocolate chunks, and a dusting of matcha powder if desired.

Notes

  • Substitute almond, oat, or dairy milk for coconut milk.
  • Replace white chocolate with milk or dark chocolate for a richer version.
  • Add a drop of vanilla extract for extra depth.
  • Sweeten with honey or maple syrup if needed.
  • Serve iced by chilling and pouring over ice.
