Description

This Chocolate Lasagna is a decadent layered dessert featuring an Oreo cookie crust, a creamy cream cheese layer, a rich chocolate pudding filling, and a fluffy whipped topping. Perfectly chilled and garnished with mini chocolate chips or crushed Oreos, it’s an irresistible treat ideal for parties or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Oreo Crust

  • 36 regular Oreos
  • 6 Tablespoons butter, melted

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons cold milk
  • 1 cup Cool Whip (from 12 ounces), divided

Chocolate Pudding Layer

  • 2 (3.9-ounce) packages dry chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 3 1/4 cups cold milk

Topping

  • Remaining 11 ounces Cool Whip
  • Mini chocolate chips, optional
  • Crushed Oreos, optional

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oreo Crust: In a food processor or blender, crush the whole Oreos into fine crumbs. Add the melted butter and mix until fully combined. Press this crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish to form an even crust. Place the dish in the freezer or refrigerator for 5 minutes to set.
  2. Make Cream Cheese Layer: In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to whip the softened cream cheese until fluffy. Add in granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons cold milk; mix until smooth and combined. Fold in 1 cup of Cool Whip gently, then spread this mixture evenly over the chilled Oreo crust. Return to the freezer or refrigerator for 5 to 10 minutes to allow it to firm up slightly.
  3. Prepare Chocolate Pudding Layer: In a separate bowl, whisk the dry chocolate pudding mix and 3 1/4 cups cold milk together until the mixture thickens, about 2 minutes. Once thickened, spread the pudding evenly over the cream cheese layer. Place back in the refrigerator for another 5 to 10 minutes to set the pudding layer.
  4. Add Topping: After the pudding has set, spread the remaining Cool Whip evenly on top. Sprinkle with mini chocolate chips or crushed Oreos if desired for extra texture and decoration.
  5. Chill and Serve: Store the assembled lasagna in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours to fully chill and set. Slice just before serving and enjoy cold for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For best results, ensure all dairy ingredients are well chilled before mixing.
  • Crushing Oreos finely will help the crust bind better with the butter.
  • You can substitute the regular Cool Whip with a dairy-free whipped topping for a lactose-free version.
  • Add chopped nuts between layers for added crunch if desired.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
