Description
A rich and flavorful sandwich featuring spicy fried chicken glazed in honey-hot sauce, layered inside a buttery croissant with Caesar salad for creamy crunch.
Ingredients
2 chicken breasts
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
2 tbsp hot sauce
1 tsp Cajun seasoning
1½ cups flour
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
¼ cup butter
2 tbsp honey
¼ cup hot sauce
½ head iceberg lettuce, shredded
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Juice of ½ lemon
Your favorite Caesar dressing
Oil for frying
2 croissants
Parsley-Parmesan butter (optional, for brushing)
Instructions
- Whisk buttermilk, egg, hot sauce, and Cajun seasoning in a bowl. Add chicken breasts, cover, and marinate for 30 minutes.
- Prepare Caesar salad by tossing shredded lettuce with Caesar dressing, lemon juice, and Parmesan. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a pot to 350–360°F.
- Mix dry batter ingredients in a bowl. Coat chicken in dry mix, return to wet, then coat in dry again. Fry for 12–15 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- Transfer to wire rack, sprinkle with salt.
- Melt butter with honey and hot sauce in a saucepan. Dip fried chicken in glaze to coat.
- Toast or warm croissants. Optionally brush with parsley-Parmesan butter.
- Spread Caesar dressing inside croissant, add glazed chicken, top with Caesar salad. Close sandwich and serve.
Notes
- Use chicken thighs or tenders for smaller portions.
- To make it vegetarian, use cauliflower or tofu in place of chicken.
- Reheat chicken in oven or air fryer for best crispiness.
- Assemble sandwich just before serving to avoid sogginess.
