Description

A rich and flavorful sandwich featuring spicy fried chicken glazed in honey-hot sauce, layered inside a buttery croissant with Caesar salad for creamy crunch.

Ingredients

2 chicken breasts

1 cup buttermilk

1 egg

2 tbsp hot sauce

1 tsp Cajun seasoning

1½ cups flour

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

¼ cup butter

2 tbsp honey

¼ cup hot sauce

½ head iceberg lettuce, shredded

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Juice of ½ lemon

Your favorite Caesar dressing

Oil for frying

2 croissants

Parsley-Parmesan butter (optional, for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Whisk buttermilk, egg, hot sauce, and Cajun seasoning in a bowl. Add chicken breasts, cover, and marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare Caesar salad by tossing shredded lettuce with Caesar dressing, lemon juice, and Parmesan. Set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pot to 350–360°F.
  4. Mix dry batter ingredients in a bowl. Coat chicken in dry mix, return to wet, then coat in dry again. Fry for 12–15 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  5. Transfer to wire rack, sprinkle with salt.
  6. Melt butter with honey and hot sauce in a saucepan. Dip fried chicken in glaze to coat.
  7. Toast or warm croissants. Optionally brush with parsley-Parmesan butter.
  8. Spread Caesar dressing inside croissant, add glazed chicken, top with Caesar salad. Close sandwich and serve.

Notes

  • Use chicken thighs or tenders for smaller portions.
  • To make it vegetarian, use cauliflower or tofu in place of chicken.
  • Reheat chicken in oven or air fryer for best crispiness.
  • Assemble sandwich just before serving to avoid sogginess.
