Description

This Brioche French Toast features thick, golden slices of buttery brioche soaked in a cinnamon-vanilla custard and pan-fried to crisp perfection. It’s a decadent, easy breakfast perfect for brunch or special mornings.


Ingredients

4 slices brioche bread (¾ to 1 inch thick)

2 large eggs

1/4 cup whole milk

2 tbsp heavy cream

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Pinch of salt

1 tbsp unsalted butter (for frying)

Optional toppings: powdered sugar, fresh berries, whipped cream, maple syrup


Instructions

  1. Slice brioche into thick pieces. If fresh, let dry out for 30 minutes.
  2. Whisk eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl until smooth.
  3. Dip each slice of bread in the custard for 30–40 seconds per side.
  4. Heat butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook soaked slices for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Serve hot, topped with powdered sugar, berries, whipped cream, or syrup as desired.

Notes

  • Use slightly stale brioche for best texture.
  • Stuff with cream cheese or Nutella before dipping for a richer twist.
  • Try coconut crusted: press soaked slices into shredded coconut before frying.
  • Bake instead of fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Store leftovers in fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in toaster or oven.
