Description

This Banana Bread recipe is the perfect way to use up ripe bananas, creating a moist, flavorful loaf. With a rich texture from melted butter and brown sugar, you can customize it with add-ins like walnuts or chocolate chips. Enjoy it as a comforting breakfast, snack, or dessert!

Ingredients

For the Banana Bread:

34 Very ripe bananas (mashed, about 1 ½ cups)

½ cup Melted butter (unsalted preferred)

1 cup Brown sugar (light or dark)

2 Large eggs (room temperature)

1 tsp Vanilla extract (pure)

1 ½ cups All-purpose flour

1 tsp Baking soda

½ tsp Fine salt

½ cup Walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

1 tsp Cinnamon (optional)

¼ cup Greek yogurt (optional, for moisture boost)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a bowl until mostly smooth, leaving a few chunks for texture if preferred.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until well combined. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas, mixing until smooth.

  4. Fold in the flour, baking soda, salt, and any optional add-ins like walnuts, chocolate chips, or cinnamon. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

  6. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.

  7. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Add-ins: Customize with chocolate chips, walnuts, or dried fruit like cranberries or raisins.

Spices: Add a teaspoon of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth and flavor.

Healthy Version: Swap whole wheat flour for all-purpose flour and use coconut sugar instead of brown sugar for a healthier version.
