Description

Ingredients

Olive oil cooking spray

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, fat trimmed off

2 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

½ teaspoon garlic powder (or to taste)

½ teaspoon dried oregano (or to taste)

½ teaspoon Italian seasoning (or to taste)

1 tablespoon butter, cut into 4 pats

Parchment paper


Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

  • Pat dry the chicken breasts with paper towels. Place them in the prepared baking dish. Rub each chicken breast with minced garlic.

  • Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, freshly ground black pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and Italian seasoning. Place a pat of butter on each chicken breast.

  • Cover the chicken with parchment paper, tucking the edges to ensure it’s snug.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 33 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 162°F to 165°F.

  • Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

You can substitute parchment paper with aluminum foil if necessary.

For a cheesy twist, top the chicken with shredded cheese in the last 5 minutes of baking.

Add lemon slices or squeeze fresh lemon juice over the chicken before baking for a zesty flavor.
