¼ cup white sugar (50 g)
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1½ teaspoons cinnamon powder
⅓ cup full-fat milk (80 ml)
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons butter, melted (unsalted)
2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped (about 2¾ cups or 335 g)
For The Glaze:
1 cup icing sugar (120 g)
3 tablespoons full-fat milk
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 tablespoon butter, melted (unsalted)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, vanilla essence, and lemon juice.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture, add melted butter, and stir until fully combined. Fold in chopped apples.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F. Line basket with parchment paper and lightly spray with nonstick spray.
- Scoop four leveled ¼-cup portions of batter into the basket. Air fry for 8 minutes, flip, and cook for 3 more minutes. Cool on wire rack. Repeat with remaining batter.
- Whisk icing sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth, then stir in melted butter to make the glaze.
- Dip warm fritters into glaze, allow to drip on rack, and serve warm.
Notes
- Parchment paper helps prevent sticking in the air fryer.
- Glaze can be made ahead and stored in the fridge.
- Use different fruit like pears or peaches for variety.
- Add nutmeg or cardamom for a flavor twist.
