Crispy, tangy, and golden brown, Air Fryer Fried Pickles are a healthier take on the classic snack. Using the air fryer, these fried pickles are crispy without the excess oil, making them a perfect appetizer or party snack. Paired with a creamy dipping sauce, they’re sure to be a crowd-pleaser!


Ingredients

For the Pickles:

1 cup sliced pickles

2 large eggs

3 tablespoons flour

1 tablespoon hot sauce (such as Tabasco)

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

For the Dip:

¼ cup sour cream

¼ cup mayonnaise

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ cup minced onions (the finer, the better)

1 clove garlic (minced)

1 teaspoon dried dill (optional)


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pickles: Lay pickles on paper towels, pressing gently to remove excess moisture.

  2. Make the Egg Wash: In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, flour, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Coat the Pickles: In a second dish, place panko breadcrumbs. Dip each pickle slice in the egg wash, then coat with panko breadcrumbs. Arrange them on a baking sheet.

  4. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat to 400°F (200°C).

  5. Cook the Pickles: Spray pickles with oil and air-fry for 5-7 minutes. Flip them, spray again, and air-fry for another 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy.

  6. Make the Dip: In a small bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, minced onions, garlic, and dill.

  7. Serve: Serve the crispy pickles hot with the creamy dip.

Notes

Spicy Option: Add more hot sauce or use spicy pickles for an extra kick.

Cheese Coating: Add parmesan or cheddar to the panko breadcrumbs for extra cheesy flavor.

Double Coat: For extra crispiness, dip the pickles in the egg wash and breadcrumbs twice.
